A full front photograph of the house can be seen in the essay by Michelle Knoll of the Trafalgar Township Historical Society linked to this record.

This house and property is Part Lot 30, Con 1 Trafalgar SDS and has long been owned by Wettlaufer family members. It was built in 1913. It has been on the Palermo Inventory of Heritage Resources - Not Designated.

George Wettlaufer had been born in Perth County and kept a general store at Hawksville in Waterloo County before moving to farm in Trafalgar Township on the 2nd Concession and Highway 25 at Fairview Farm. (In modern times, this is Burnhamthorpe Road and Bronte Road in Oakville, Halton County, Ontario.)

In 1927, he retired to live in Palermo with two of his (widowed) daughters. His son, Eckhardt, also lived in Palermo with his family; wife Ethel was a much loved school teacher. They were all active in the society of the area and at Palermo United Church.

Rosetta, called Etta, Christener, daughter of George Senior, inherited 2467 Bronte. Sister Charlotte M. Waterbury lived there too and inherited it after Rosetta. Brother George William also owned/lived there as he never married. Charlotte died June 9, 1983. Her husband Arthur died in New York in 1945 as per his obit in the Beaver. http://news.halinet.on.ca/2495266/page/8 Charlotte moved back to 2467 Bronte Rd after his death at some point.

The sons of George Senior continued on the farm. There are many family photographs in this collection taken on the farm. Please find them by searching the family name.

The bypass of Bronte Road in the 1950's was to allow more traffic to flow between Milton and the QEW, Lakeshore corridor trains and Lake Ontario. At first, the road was called the Bypass, but it was soon reversed to be the primary road with Old Bronte Road serving residences.
