Dog guides open house April 1 Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides is hosting its semi-annual Open House on Saturday, April 1, featuring a silent auction and some very special dogs. The Open House is from 10-2 p.m. at the Lions Foundation's training school, 152 Wilson St. The Lions Foundation will show case how all three of their programs work, enhancingihe lives of Canadians with visual, hearing and medical and/or physical disabilities. Live demonstrations will be provided in all three programs: Canine Vision Canada, Hearing Ear Dogs of Canada and Special Skills Dogs of Canada. The silent auction features items donated from local businesses throughout the Greater Toronto and Oakville area. Lions Foundations of Canada is a registered charity that relies on indi vidual and corporate donations and receives no government funding. All services are provided at no cost to the Lions Foundation's clients. The costs of training dogs for the programs range from $4,000 to $10,000. The Lions Foundation has been operational since 1983.
