The six-week hearing that began in January, but failed to conclude, is con tinuing for its seventh week at Town Hall. This week was scheduled to hear closing arguments in the slow-moving case -- r from Palm Place Developments, the Town, Conservation Halton and the Bronte Village Residents Association (BVRA). Those arguments, however, weren't even expected to begin until late yester day as Palm Place recalled three of its witnesses to give reply testimony and then motions were argued over shore line protection and traffic. On the issue of traffic, Palm Place argued that a Feb. 13 town council res olution that endorsed the town's use of Halton Region's traffic guidelines -- adopted by the region in 2001 -- was "orchestrated in an attempt to rehabili tate the Town's case."
