'Dream come true' for Blades forward Continued from page 32 Cunningham scored the game-winning goal in Game 7 against Milton, while DeFazio (12 points in 16 playoff games) and Calitri (10 points, including five goals) have been major offen sive contributors. The team' s young players have come through as well, par ticularly Brendan Taylor. Taylor scored on a penalty shot in overtime of Game 5 against Milton, giving the Blades life, and potted two goals in Saturday' s West clincher. "Honestly, it might sound cliche but it' s been a dream come true," the 16-year-old Taylor said last week. "I grew up watch ing the Blades and always wanted to be a Blade." Marc Stuart and David Scamurra, who have alternated starts throughout the playoffs, have provided Oakville with dependable goaltending thus far. And any discussion of the Blades' postseason success would not be complete without mention of Matt Beca, the conference MVP who leads the league in playoff scoring (14 goals, 17 assists in 16 games). `This is definitely a big accomplishment," Ringwald said, "but now we're going to focus on the next series. We're not sat isfied with winning the West." NOTES: Joey Piccone, Bryan Peters, Paul and Cunningham also scored Saturday for the Blades. Beca had two assists and Stuart stopped 21 of 23 Hamilton shots... Three of the Blades' six goals Saturday came with the man advantage. Oakville scored eight power play markers in the series... Stouffville fin ished third in the seven-team North Conference standings.this season with a 26-10-9-4 record. The Spirit defeated the Aurora Tigers in six games in the North final...
