Independent ratings agency Moody's Investors Service recently reaffirmed Halton's AAA credit rating, allowing the Region and its four municipalities to borrow funds at the lowest possible interest rates. Moody's also attached a stable out look to the Region's rating, indicating its continued confidence in Halton's financial management and ability to maintain the rating into the future. "The AAA credit rating is reserved for communities that consistently demonstrate strong financial perform ance and practice sound fiscal manage ment," said Regional Chairman Joyce Savoline. "This reaffirmation of our top rating and our stable outlook reflects Halton's ability, and that of our local municipal ities, to effectively plan for a prosperous future with strong and defensible poli cies." Moody's Investors Service noted that Halton Region continues to post strong financial results, reflecting a commitment to multi-year planning and sound fiscal management.
