Attending the ceremony were Rosedale Village resid en ts, m em bers o f the R osedale V illage development group, and invited elected officials of the area. P rior to the speeches, everyone toured the impressively designed and furnished 20,000 sq. ft. facility, followed by refreshments in the facility's elaborate north lounge. The north lounge also served as the stage for speeches by Silvio Dalian, project manager, Rosedale Village, Alfredo DeGasperis, Metrus Developments, John N eufeld, chairm an, Rosedale R esidents' Association and Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell. D urihg the official grand opening, the mayor presented the Rosedale Golf & Country Club with a beautiful plaque from the C ity of Bram pton commemorating the clubhouse's opening. Following the mayor was Dr. Ruby Dhalla, MPP who presented a certificate of appreciation to the development group and to the assembled crowd of well-wishers. "Congratulations Rosedale Village Golf & Country Club on the opening of your clubhouse. On behalf of the Government of Canada, I would like to extend my best wishes to the residents and staff of Rosedale Village. Wishing you happiness, success and good health." Finally, in lieu of a ribbon cutting ceremony, to open the clubhouse, the mayor performed a billiard break to proclaim the new clubhouse officially open to residents and their guests.
