This year's deadline to apply is Friday, April 7, "but that may be extended because of the recent strike that was settled earlier this week," said Robin English of Sheridan's Student Awards Office. "It depends on how many applications we receive." Women over 30 can apply to receive the $1,000 scholarship at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning Student Awards Office, Rm. D100, explained English, Awards and Bursary Associate. The criteria for receiving this award includes academic achievement, participation in socially responsible activities in the community, exhibiting lead ership qualities and demonstrat' ing a financial need. "Previous applicants who have not'won are invited to reapply," said English, however, priority will be given to students who are planning to or attending Sheridan and have not received any other scholarships.
