The fundraiser was held to facilitate life-changing surgery for children in Uganda. The Rangers teamed up with One4Another International in order to offer the program, which is needed because the level of poverty in the African country prevents many children from getting medical procedures that are dealt with quickly in Canada. Typical ailments include club feet and bone infections, which can lead to amputation if not treated. For the past three years, Oakville Rangers rep teams are given the opportunity to sponsor a Ugandan child in need of surgery. After a team confirms its interest in sponsoring a child and notifies One4Another, a match will be made. Weavers, the 2014 national collegiate champion, moved up the leaderboard in the final round by tying for the best round of the day. The Niagara College student shot a 78 at the Fox Meadow Golf Club in Stratford, P .E.I., a total matched only by the winner, Georgian's Addison Wallwin, as high winds, cold temperatures and heavy rain tested the golfers. Weavers gained five strokes on Medicine Hat College's Becky Martin, but finished one shot behind the bronze-medallist with a three-day total of 235. The two-time Ontario collegiate champion opened the tournament with rounds of 78 and 79.
