When it was sold, the group temporarily met out of General Wolfe High School, now White Oaks Secondary School's north campus, until the present church building on Trafalgar Road was constructed in 1977. "What makes us distinct is our real love for the Gospel as it shapes people's lives," said Clemens. As it looks toward the future, Clemens said the congregation wants to be a "dynamic place of ministry and worship" as Oakville grows. It's looking at the demographics now and where it will be in future, recognizing the church's multicultural membership. "That's one of the hallmarks of Faith Baptist Church, is its ethnic diversity," he said. "We have numerous different nations and nationalities represented in the membership here, which I think is more and more a reflection of our community and so our heart is very much to minister to this kind of community...." The church is building a strategic plan and looking at how well its building is fitting the needs plan, he said. It's also looking to build a plan that fits the needs of community spiritually, emotionally, socially and economically. For more information, visit www. faithoakville.ca.
