www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, November 10, 2016 | 8 oakville.ca Official Plan Review Public Open House and Workshop The town's five-year Official Plan review is underway and we need your input on some key studies! Urban Structure Review -- Where and how should Oakville grow? The Town of Oakville is at a moment in time where it must consider where and how to grow. Instead of developing outward over greenfield lands, the town needs to determine how best to manage development within its boundaries. The Urban Structure Review is a town-wide examination of natural heritage and open space lands, as well as mixed use, residential, commercial and employment lands. Urban structure is the pattern of built and unbuilt areas and is important because it sets out where we live, work and play. Urban structure is a major factor in community livability. The town is seeking public input to help assess if changes are necessary to accommodate required growth and to ensure community infrastructure is available long-term. There are four opportunities to participate, each following the same format and covering the same material: open house at 6:30 p.m., presentation at 7 p.m., and roundtable workshop until 8:30 p.m.: · November 15 Iroquois Ridge Community Centre, 1051 Glenashton Drive, Northridge Room · November 16 Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, 130 Navy Street, Studio Theatre · November 22 River Oaks Community Centre, 2400 Sixth Line, Community Room B · November 23 Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, 2302 Bridge Road, Black Box Theatre In support of the study, a draft Discussion Paper has been prepared.
