Santa parade changing route When Santa Claus visits Oakville on Nov. 18 he'll be taking a new route through town. The changed route addresses safety concerns expressed by local emergency services. "Thousands of people attend this event and public safety is always a primary concern," said Pam Damoff, chair, Oakville Santa Claus Parade Committee. "The new route ensures access to the hospital in case of an emergency." The route will see the highlyanticipated 2006 Oakville Santa Claus Parade begin at the comer of Lakeshore Road ..West and Reynolds Street and travel west along Lakeshore Road to Brock Street. "This will be the 58th year of the Oakville Santa Claus Parade and we're confident that this year' s parade will continue to be a tradi tion that is eagerly anticipated by all of Oakville' s residents," said Domenic Lunardo, commissioner of Community Services, Town of Oakville.
