Your Health The Oakville Beaver Weekend, Saturday February 11, 2006 - 13 OTMH receives $231,945 for eating disorder program Halton healthcare services has received $231,945 in provincial funding to support its eating disorder treatm ent program at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH). "Eating disorders can lead to serious health problems, for both women and men, and we will continue to invest in programs that prevent and treat the negative impact of this disease," said Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn. The funding is part of a $4.5 million investment - $2 million being distributed now and a further $2.5 million for the fiscal year beginning in April - being provided to eating disorder treatm ent programs across the province. This investment will increase the annual funding for these pro grams to $11.6 million. OTMH is one of 18 hospitals in Ontario that provide spe cialized inpatient, outpatient and day patient treatm ent pro grams for children, youth and adults with eating disorders. Funding is also being provided to the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association, which offers specialized education and support services to help prevent eating disorders and sup port people and families who are affected by them. The dance will be held at the Burlington Convention Centre at 1120 Burloak Dr. in Burlington. Tickets cost $45. VOICE holds two fundraisers a year, one is a Golf Tournament in September and includes dinner, interactive D.J., dancing, door prizes, silent and live auctions.
