Over the next 10 years, we plan to spend more than $1.9 billion to upgrade our water and wastewater systems. Recently, we celebrated the Grand Opening of the Burlington Skyway Wastewater Treatment Plant. At a cost of almost $160 million, this expansion is the largest capital project undertaken to date by Halton Region. Funding for this project was provided by all three levels of government - the Government of Canada, the Province of Ontario and Halton Region. In addition to the Burlington Skyway Plant expansion, Halton Region is actively maintaining, upgrading and expanding our wastewater collection and treatment systems across the region. Through projects like Skyway, the Mid-Halton Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion and a number Regional water and wastewater treatment plant updates, we are planning for growth today and in the future.
