But with a chance to move into a first-place tie, the Blades dropped a 3 -2 decision to St. Mike' s at Six teen Mile Sports Complex. After Bryce Misley secured he Blades a 1-0 lead just 2 :1 2 into the opening period, St. Mike' s scored three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead after two periods. Oakville' s Ryan Foss put his team within one when he scored at 13:18 of the third pe riod, but the tying goal never came. Brendan McClynn took the loss for the Cougars, stopping 29 of the 3 2 shots he faced. The loss dropped the Blades' record to 17 9-2. A night earlier, the Blades scored four un answered goals in the final 10 minutes to down the W hitby Fury 6-2. Jackson Bales broke a 2-2 tie with a powerplay goal with 9 :4 4 to play in the third. For ty-seven seconds later Peyton Reeves made it 4 -2 Oakville. Jack Jeffers scored for the third straight game and seven minutes after Bales sparked the Blades' rally, he capped it with a shorthanded goal. Misley opened the Blades' scor ing midway through the first pe riod. W hitby tied it up three min utes later. Matt Hayami' s fourth goal in the past five games restored Oakville' s lead in the second period. The lead held until W hitby scored a power-play goal in the opening minute of the third. Foss and Misley each had a pair of assists while McGlynn made 2 0 saves for the win as the Blades snapped W hitby's six-game win ning streak.
