CO Health Halton Healthcare hospitals receivi^ $3M from Province Halton Healthcare is receiving m ore than $3 million to im prove patients' access to care at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial, M ilton District and Georgetown hospitals. As recently announced in the 2016 Ontar io Econom ic Outlook and Fiscal Review, the Halton hospitals are am ong public hospitals across Ontario receiving a m inim um two per cent increase to their base funding this year from the provincial government. Additional funding has been provided to hospitals to support population growth and changing health care needs in their com m u nities. "Providing patients with access to the highest quality of care is the cornerstone of Ontario's health care policy," Ontario Labour Minister and Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn said in a press release. "Recent investments by the Ontario gov ernment into health care in Oakville have provided residents with a state-of-the-art hospital that is a safe and welcoming place for patients and their loved ones throughout all stages of life," he continued. "This additional hospital funding from the Ontario government that we're announc ing... will ultimately support better care for patients and reduce wait tim es." The m oney is also intended to help reduce the length of hospital stays for patients and families in Halton while supporting increased access to services. In total, $140 m illion is being doled out as part of the 2016 Ontario Economic O utlook and Fiscal Review.
