The Halton Regional Debate Finals were held on Dec. 9 at Abbey Park High School. "Heather Weston and Kim Wilson, the two debate coaches at Abbey Park, and their stu dents and debaters, deserve a great deal of thanks for hosting this event, at a very busy time of the year," said Hamish Guthrie, WOSS debate coach. Members of the top two teams from WOSS included: Ethan Strathdee and Kashaf Salaheen; and Marium Vahed and Jasmine Alwaheidi. Six teams have qualified for the provincial finals, which will happen in Ottawa in March 2017. The Halton contingent is made up of two teams each from Oakville Trafalgar and Iro quois Ridge high schools and WOSS.
