St. Andrew, St. Bernadette and S t Michael Schools will showcase their healthy lifestyle activities. Each school will demonstrate its quality daily fitness (QDF) program and healthy snacks. At St. Michael, an opening assembly at 9 a.m. will feature a QDF demonstra tion followed by a vigourous 20-minute neighbourhood walk at 9:30 a.m., fol lowed by a nutritious snack provided by the school's Food for Thought pro gram. Go Active Canada, a 45-m inute interactive show focusing on active liv ing and self-esteem will be presented at 1:15 p.m., by McDonald's Restaurant. The school day at St. Andrew will be filled with a mixture of skipping work shops with speedstacking, with a QDF for the whole school at 10:30 a.m. and a Laps for Lungs activity, and a fitness nutrition carnival from 11:40 a.m. 12:20 p.m. The Grade 7 student nutrition class' room presentations will be held in con junction with a public health nurse and Families are Munching. St. Bernadette will present a Healthy Body, Healthy Minds performance by the Smudge Fundaes on Tuesday. There will be two presentations in the gym, 9-9:45 a.m. for the Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3 children, and 10:15-11 a.m. for Grades 4-6. This will be followed by a 20-minute dancing time for the whole school, Putting Edge golfing and `Activ8' activ ities for Grades 1-3 and weather per mitting, French Carnival outdoor activ ities.
