The bridge over Sixteen Mile Creek is scheduled for reconstruction starting this month and is expected to be complete sometime in late fall. As a result, the roadway will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic for the duration of the project. A detour route around the bridge will be provided through Kerr Street, Rebecca Street and Navy Street. As of Thursday, Jan. 5, Navy Street was converted to two-way traffic. In late January, the Lakeshore Road Bridge will close until late fall for reconstruction. However, the downtown stores, Oakville Public Library Central Branch, Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts and Centennial Pool will remain open during this time.
