Pierre Morrissette Morrissette, has been a leader in Canadian Business for decades and currently serves as founding president and CEO of Pelmorex Media Inc. The 69-year-old Morrissette graduated from the Ivey Business School at Western University and started his career in the commercial banking industry with the Royal Bank in 1972. According to his Tinkedln profile, by 1983, he had already risen to President and CEO of Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. and later founded Pelmorex Media in 1989. Pelmorex is a consumer weather services company and corporate parent to successful brands such as the Oakville-based The Weather Network, MeteoMedia and eltiempo.es. Fellow opera singer Russell Braun, of Georgetown, was also selected as a recipient of the Order of Canada. Braun, 51, will join Morrissette and Schade from Halton as part of the class of 2016. In all, 100 members, officers and companions were named to what is considered one of Canada' s highest civilian honours by the Governor General on Friday, Dec. 30.
