My dog is actually quite distraught and confused, wondering where her treats are going to come from now," said Taylor, w ho met Wake in 2009, w hen her eldest daughter was in Junior Kindergarten. "She was always here. She stayed well past her schedule. The kids had such respect for her." Taylor also recalled Wake' s generosity, as she attempted to give the crossing guard a Christ mas gift one year, but was politely declined. "She' s like, `No, don't give me anything. You' ve got kids. Look after your kids.' She was so selfless," said Taylor. Oakville resident Jim Robertson said his three children couldn' t cross the street after school without Wake giving them a dog treat to take home.
