Among the manual therapy programs that we offer at Canadian Therapeutic College, the three-year Sports In ju ry Therapy P ro g ram ' is meeting an important need. A graduate ol this program, a Sports Injury Therapist, is qualilied to be a member ot a health care profession which focuses on applying the knowledge and skills related to m a n u a l th e ra p y and s p o rts in ju ry m a na g em en t. A fte r tra in in g at C an adian Therapeutic C o lle g e the th e ra p ist w ill be able to assess and treat s o il tissue dysfunction in both c linical and a sporting environm ent in order to enhance the fitness and performance ot sports participants. These therapists u tilize manual therapy techniques, therapeutic modalities, rehabilitative exercises and supportive taping and bracing to prevent, recognize, manage and rehabilitate injuries related to sport, exercise or recreational activity. As well as setting up a private practice, such therapists are welcomed as a part of the support team lor national and local sports learns. Rehabilitation centres, physical therapy clinics and fitness institutes otter other employment opportunities. Students in the Sports In ju ry Therapy Program are instructed by h ig h ly trained, practicing professionals with a wealth of background and current experiences to bring to the classroom and make the program come to life tor the students. Medical doctors, doctors of chiropractic, registered nurses, massage therapists and athletic therapists are members ot our (acuity.
