Her fine play this summer had the Iroquois Ridge student receive prominent billing from the Ontario Ladies' Golf Association press release... "A strong competitor, Jessica Shepley from Trafalgar G&CC, who resides in Oakville, was the runner-up not only in the Ontario Junior Ladies Championship but also the Ontario Ladies Amateur Championship. Her presence was felt by all with an exciting back nine of 30 (7-under par) at the difficult par 73, Highland CC. in London, Ont." Also favoured in the junior portion, obvi ously, was the Ontario junior ladies champ, Lindsay Knowlton. Shepley tees off Monday at 8:32 a.m. against Kathleen Ferguson of the Muskoka Lakes golf club. Ball locks up golf scholarship Jamie Ball, an Iroquois Ridge high school grad, is due to hit the links this September for Mount Olive College, in North Carolina, which competes in the NCAA second division. His golf scholarship is valued at $9,500, according to College Prospects of America which helped him secure his scholarship. A two-handicapper, Ball has been very successful at Ontario Golf Association (OGA) and other regional golf events over the past few years. He has been a member of the Trafalgar Golf Course and was the 1999 club chartip. Dziabel looking at top-10 finish at Ontario ju n ior boys championship Going into Friday's fourth and final round of the Ontario junior boys golf championship, Oakville's Jason Dziabel remained in seventh place with a three round total o f 227 (73-77 77). The Bayview golf club in Thornhill is host ing the tourney and one of its junior members, Kevin Blue, was looking to wrap up the tour ney which he has led from the start. After three rounds, he boasted at 216 total (67-75-74). In second place was J.C. Deacon of Unionville at 2 2 1 (75-75-71). Oakville's Sean Lowry of Wyldewood golf club, who survived the cut, had a three round total of 80-81-76 and his placement fluctuated accordingly at 64th-65th-45th place.
