Actors take note Fanfare Theatrical Productions will be holding auditions for its production of The Wizard o fO z , which will play in the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, Dec. 15th to 17th. Director Dia Frid, choreographer Virginia Fleming and musical director Don Simpson are looking for triple threat performers with a "good character look" for all principal roles. Those who audition are expected to arrive prepared with a choice of one comedic or one dramatic monologue (American classical) as well as a choice of ballad or up tempo song (bring sheet music). Accompanist will be provided. Auditions will take place from 10 to 4 p.m. at Ryerson Theatre School, 44 Gerrard St. E,, Toronto on Sunday, Aug. 27th and Monday, Aug. 28th as well as at the Fleming School of Dance, 140 Dunn St., Oakville on Sunday, Sept. 10th. Burlington Little Theatre (BLT) is also holding auditions for its upcoming production of Me and My Friend. Two men and two women, over age 25 but under age 55, are required plus two people (male or female) age 20 to 40 for non-speaking parts. British common accents are necessary (regional accept able) for the four speaking roles in this play by Gillian Plowman. Auditions will be held on Aug. 29th, 30th and 31st from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Drama Centre in Central Park, 2311 New St. (between Guelph Line and Drury Lane), Burlington. The production will be on stage between Feb. 2nd and Feb. 17th. However, M e and M y Friend will be BLT's entry into this year's Western Ontario Drama League festival in March. Should the play be chosen to compete in the festi val finals, and possibly the Theatre Ontario finals, more rehearsal and performance times will be scheduled.
