On Thursday, Feb. 2, residents will have the opportunity to view the Coach House, learn about the recommendations in a consultant-led study on potential new uses for the building and provide feedback on the report. In summer 2016, the Oakville Museum undertook a study to identify possible new uses for the Coach House. Consultants then prepared a report with recommendations on future uses for it. Dr. Arun Narang, D.D.S. Teeth Whitening One of the most desirable attributes of an appealing smile is a set of healthy, white teeth. However, staining due to tobacco use, drinking certain types of beverages (including tea, wine, and coffee), or the natural process of aging may make you feel self-conscious about your smile. Fortunately there are solutions that can dramatically enhance the aesthetics of your smile quickly and effectively. Along with having good oral hygiene at home, by brushing and flossing, having regular dental hygiene care can help keep teeth healthy and less stained. In addition, whitening toothpastes can help whiten stained teeth or maintain teeth that have already been whitened. One solution for whiter teeth is the "take-home" whitening treatments bought from the store. The solutions used for store bought treatments does not have high percentages of the active ingredient due to medical grade laws, and they use a generic one-size-fits all tray. The "take-home" whitening treatments from the dental office has higher percentages of the active whitening ingredient, and custom trays are fabricated for each patient. These tray based treatments must be worn for a certain time per day. The most effective, most convenient whitening treatment is the "in-office tooth-whitening procedures" . Teeth can whiten dramatically by several shades, and may even come with supplementary take-home kits. The "in-office treatments" uses a higher percentage active ingredient along with a low-intensity light which accelerates the whitening action of the solution. This is done in the dental office by a dental professional and may take 60-90 minutes. In our office, we provide audio or video entertainment so our patients are comfortable while they whiten their teeth. The two in-office treatments we have at our offices are ZOOM!® and Spa Dent Naturals®. ZOOM!® is the procedure seen on the TV show Extreme Make-Over®. Spa Dent Naturals® is an innovative teeth whitening treatment that is gluten-free, BPA-free, fluoride-free, and gentle on sensitive teeth. For more information about teeth whitening, or to schedule a consultation with Dr. Narang or another dentist at our practice, please contact our office today.
