Town staff presented draft poli cy changes to the Livable Oakville Review Subcommittee Monday, Jan. 16. The m odifications were present ed as part of Council' s five-year review of the Livable Oakville Of ficial Plan and emerged as a result of extensive consultation with resi dents and businesses in the area. In the com ing w eeks and m onths, the public will have nu merous opportunities for engage- ment, culminating in a public m eeting on all recommended changes to the Official Plan, later this year. Am ong the changes presented, the report explores: · Designating ground floor main streets in Bronte Village for commer cial use only · Re-designating the valley lands northwest of the downtow n growth area to the middle of Sixteen Mile Creek to facilitate more public ac cess to a downtown riverside park · Adjusting height restrictions and expanding the potential for bonusing in designated areas · Reviewing and strengthening the overall urban structure and de sign "Our conversation with residents is far from over," said Burton.
