Before you leave home: Pre-sort loads for quick and easy unloading. Loads must be sorted by material type Remove all fluids (for example, gas, oil) from gas-powered equipment such as lawnmowers Empty oil drums and tanks and cut in half Secure all open loads with a tarp or rope. Arrange for additional assistance to help unload heavy material, if required. Container Station In addition to garbage disposal, the following materials can be dropped o ff and diverted from landfill (fees apply to the following items): Appliances ($5 p e r a p p lia n c e ) Wood Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot Halton residents can safely dispose o f household hazardous waste, free o f charge, by dropping it off at the Household Hazardous Waste Depot, conveniently located within the Halton Waste Management Site. The Paint and Stain Reuse Depot is open from mid-spring to mid-fall to prevent materials from freezing.
