And on Wednesday, just talking about the 40-member board appeared to divide the Region's administration and finance committee. The GTSB was formed to tackle tough tran sit issues and is made up of representatives from GTA municipalities. Two reports issued by the GTSB for infor mation only were before the Regional commit tee. They dealt with challenges facing the GTA and strategies to deal with growth. Halton Hills Mayor Marilyn Seijeantson reacted angrily to the GTSB's draft Countryside report, which aims to hem in urban sprawl in the GTA. "I don't want Toronto planning my future or my children's future," she said. "Just the picture on the front of the report shows they don't get it." It's illustrated by two horses standing in a meadow. Burlington Mayor Rob Maclsaac said the GTSB needs to go farther in its planning efforts. "I don't think it goes far enough in address ing the problems the GTA are facing in terms of sprawl and urban growth," he said.
