It had been raining and the road was wet. S chilling lost control o f her vehicle and collided with a 1993 M azda M PV that w as stopped n o rth bound on K err Street. S chilling sustained serious head in ju rie s and w as tak en by am b u lan ce to O a k v ille -T ra fa lg a r M em orial H o sp ital, then later transferred to H am ilton G eneral H ospital. School board hosts multi-media fair Oct 19th The Halton District School Board's Multi-media Fair will be open to mem bers of the public again this year. The event will be held at St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre in Oakville on Oct. 19th, from 12:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This Fair will feature -educational material including toys, books, software, videos, DVDs and maps, as well as other multi-media, all relating to today's cur riculum. "The Halton District School Board has hosted a French multi-media fair for 10 years," says Gail Phillips, a coordina tor with the Halton District School Board. "Last year, it was decided to open the multi-media fair to French and English educators, as well as members of the pub lic. It was a spectacular success with more than 1,000 parents, students and teachers attending the event!" The variety of resources available at the Fair will cover all curriculum areas, with a focus on the new Ontario Curriculum expectations. Two arrested for growing pot indoors Two Oakville men are facing drug chaiges after their apartment was raided last week by Halton Regional Police. On Sept. 28, officers from the Drug and Morality Bureau executed a search warrant at a Lakeshore Road West apart ment. There they found four eight-foot marijuana plants, a quantity of dried marijuana and hydroponic equipment. Gerald Beaudoin, 51, and William Broadbent, 65, have been charged with possession of marijuana and production of marijuana. Both men are scheduled to appear in Oakville Court on Nov. 7th.
