Sunday October 22, 2000 Oakville Beaver W eekend T o ro n to F ren ch S c h o o l Consider A Bilingual Education Halloween Capers at Bronte Creek During the next two weekends, the Ghosts and Goblins of Halloween will be finding their way into Bronte Creek Provincial Park. "Halloween Capers" -- an annual event at the park, will fea ture a variety of activities and games for the entire family. The Haunted House and spooky bams will be open both weekends. Other activities include: face-painting, a guess ing jar, pumpkin carving contests, Halloween bingo, Halloween tic-tac-toe, sack races, egg races, a scavenger hunt, a pumpkin toss, bunny races, and much more. Pumpkins will also be on sale both weekends, with all proceeds going to the United Way. The Friends of Bronte Creek will be operating wagon rides both weekends as well. The festivities take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days, and kids, don't forget to wear your cos tumes. Next weekend, Halloween Capers features two activities. From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday night, Burlington Storyteller Pauline Grondin pre sents `T he Legends of Halloween," a collection of historical Halloween Folk Tales. Following this, join us for "Scary Creatures Revealed," a night hike which takes place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Come and learn about owl calls and coyote calls, and learn how scary animals are, in fact, pretty cool. And speaking of cool... don't forget to dress warm! It is suggested that you pre-register for this event by calling the Nature Centre at 827-6911 ext. 231.
