M elissa called him stupid and ran to her room . T hen she could hear the voice again saying "I'm going to get you". She w as scared. She saw a shadow that looked like a zom bie. She craw led under her bed. The sh ad o w cam e nearer. M elissa turned on her flashlight. T he shadow w as her dad sleep w alking saying "I'm going to get you". M elissa stared at him to see if he w ould finish his sen tence. Finally he said "I'm going to g et you a g lass o f m ilk". M elissa laughed so hard she got the h iccu p s. S he tu ck ed h er father back into bed, and she w ent back to bed too. The n ex t m o rn in g it w as M elissa's first day o f school. She ran dow n the stairs to eat b reak fast. H er m om drove her to school. She met a new friend in line she had black hair and brow n eyes and w as very friendly. H er nam e was Junie. A t the end o f the day M elissa w as ex cit ed to tell her m om about her new friend. Suddenly, she heard the voice from last night saying "I'm going to g et you". She stopped to catch her breath, but then she felt a hand on her arm and som ething breathing on the back o f her neck. She ran to the closest house. She d id n 't know it w as the haunted house, the w indow s w ere broken and the house w as huge and black. M elissa ran to the front door and the d o o r opened by itself. She w as am azed. She ran inside and up the staircase. T here w ere three room s one w as em pty, but the next room had a beautiful bed and a dress er. T he last room w as locked. A few hours later, the cat and M elissa w ere very hungry so they w ent to the refrigerator. She opened the door to the refrigerator and scream ed as loud as she could. She saw tw o hairy feet passin g beneath the bed, then a slim y hand g rabbed her arm and lift ed her up in the air. She held on tightly to the box L u cy in it, b ut then L u cy ju m p e d out o f the box and fell on the g h o st's foot. T he ghost dropped M elissa on the floor and she picked up L ucy and ran.
