Following the extensive public con sultation, the Town of Oakville is mov ing forward with a traditional theme for its streetscape furniture selections in the downtown core. A Jan. 19 report on the specifics of the preferred furnishings earned a green light from council at Monday' s (Feb. 13) Plan ning and Development meeting. Paul Allen, Oakville' s planning services manager of design and construction, out lined the findings in the report in a pre sentation to councillors. Town staff went back to the drawing board -- and the public -- last fall after public backlash to initially not recommeding a traditional style.
