Dann received the biggest applause o f the evening when all the candi dates were asked whether they had ever declared bankruptcy or had been the director o f a com pany which had gone bankrupt. After everyone else said no, Dann said yes - "thanks to C anada C ustom s and Revenue Canada". W ithout going into detail, Dann said he was stronger for the experience and that these "tribulations" make him better able to understand what other small business owners go through "without any help." Predictably, none o f the candidates cam e out in favour of billboards (a bal lot question will ask every voter w hether they want them) and most said that a strong "no" vote is neces sary to bolster the Town's position when the issue likely winds up in court.
