Halton Regional Police said the worker was killed after a concrete block wall collapsed on him at about 12:40 p.m. Staff Sgt. Jeff Dunham said police, the coroner' s office and the Ministry of Labour attended and are investigating. No further details have been released about the victim, as next of kin notification is still pending. David Hill, president of Ballantry Homes, issued a statement Wednesday afternoon. "Today, sadly, a tragic accident occurred at our Upper Glen Abbey site at Dundas Street and Bronte Road in Oakville, killing one worker. We are deeply saddened. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the worker who lost his life. "The health and safety of everyone working on our sites is a top priority for our company. We are cooperating fully with the regulatory agencies investigating this accident. We will comment again once the investigation has been completed."
