After the war, M ann and w as transported to England and then back to Canada. He m oved to Oakville som e 40 years ago, mar ried and raised a family. For his contributions in the war, M ann re ceived a grant from the Government of Can ada to further his education. He studied ho tel and service managem ent and found a job as a supervisor for Trans-Canada Air Lines, which later becam e Air Canada. For the next 30.5 years, Mann w as respon sible for hiring and training stewardesses, as well as flying all over Canada. D uring his lifetime, M ann travelled to every continent in the world. "It w as a fantastic life," said Irwin. "W hat a job. W hat a lucky m an." In honour of his m any contributions to the war, Maj. Gen. M ark McQuillan, retired and current com m andant of the Canadian Service Corps, wrote a personal letter of congratula tions on reaching the age of 99 and the ser vice during wartime.
