It provides free one-on-one career advice and group workshops on Writing Resumes: Job Search Techniques; Interview Skills; and Job Safety. Services include: access to on-line job search; interview preparation; career exploration; coaching and mentoring; access to paid on-the-job training; and sub sidized placements with employers. The Resource Centre at Sheridan College is equipped with networked comput ers and software, laser printer, photocopier, fax machine, telephones, business directories, job postings and leads, and daily newspapers. Job Connect at Sheridan College is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m; Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. The 14th annual Oakville Peace and Music Festival promises to be one of the town's most interesting events this year. Organized by the Oakville Community Centre For Peace, Ecology and Human Rights, located downtown at Kerr and Rebecca, the festival will be held on Sunday, Sept. 24th, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Coronation Park. A number of community groups and speakers will be in attendance to make valuable information available to con cerned citizens. The festivities will include a barbecue, a children's play area featuring non-violent games, papercrane making, face-painting, and many local musical artists. The festival is looking for volunteer assistants who would be involved in advance preparations, promotions, and contacting supporters and participants. Additional vol unteers will also be required on the day of the festival to help in stage preparation, clean-up, and staffing of the cen tre's information tables and food booth.
