Lupien stars as Zebulon, Jo sep h 's brother, in the production, which runs in Cam bridge until April 2, followed by a three-week run in Drayton, three w eeks in Grand Bend and finishes in Penetanguishene, Ont. Lupien first big roles were in the film Flash of Genius and TV's Sue Thomas FB.EYE. He also starred on The Next Step, a Canadian television series. The Next Step followed the lives of an elite group of young dancers who train at The N ext Step Studio, as they balance the pressures of com petition with the trials of growing up. An Oakville Trafalgar High School gradu- ate, Lupien now lives in Toronto, but his par ents still reside in Oakville. Lupien started dancing at age two and first appeared on stage at 11 m onths when one of the troupes at his family's studio, Canadian Dance Com pany (C D C ), needed a prop baby for their dance. He has been trained in m ost styles of dance, such as hip-hop, tap, ballet, gymnastics, m u sical theatre, jazz and contemporary, and fea tured on stages across Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Slaats has an H onours Bachelor of Music degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Church Music, Pipe Organ and Choral Con ducting, and has com pleted additional train ing in choral conducting with the Royal Ca nadian College of Organists. She has led m usic program s in Anglican, United, Presbyterian and Lutheran congre gations and is ju st finishing up her tenure at Grace Lutheran Church in Oakville. She also has experience working with chil dren and youth and looks forward to helping revitalize the ministry at St. Cuthbert's.
