The program is called `View Your Bill' and allows customers to view their hydro bills on the utility's website www.oakvillehydro.com Customers click onto the site where they'll be asked to answer security questions regarding their bill information SCHOLARSHIP W IN N E R : Laura Kupferschmidt of Macdonald Scott Consultants, presents scholarship award to Laura Wood, a graduat ing student from Iroquois Ridge High School. The Macdonald Scott Consultants Excellence Award is presented to a graduating female stu dent who demonstrates excellence, is planning a post-secondary school education and attends a Halton secondary school. Oakville Hydro officials say all information supplied when a customer registers and the indi vidual consumption data will be kept confidential and won't be provided to electricity retailers without the customer's consent. The initiative will help reduce Hydro's mailing of 874,000 pieces of paper each year to its 47,000 customers. If all Hydro customers opted into the new program, 125 trees could be saved a year. In light of that fact, Hydro will donate a tree to an Oakville park for every 500 customers who join the View Your Bill plan.
