May 4 , 2 0 1 7 | 10 Shaarei-B eth El to celebrate Rabbi Stephen W ise this Saturday Rabbi Stephen Wise will be honoured for his 10 years of service to the congregation and the Oakville community this Saturday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m. at Shaarei-Beth El (SBE) Congregation. There will be a celebration featuring the Noam Katz band, awards and desserts. The congregation is at 186 Morrison Rd., Oakville. Funds raised during the event will go towards establishing the Rabbi Stephen Wise Youth Scholarship Fund. Wise has served as the senior rabbi at SBE since his arrival in July 2007. He is also chair of the Interfaith Council of Halton and on the Halton Police Services'multi-faith support team. His wife, Cheryl, has been education director of the synagogue for the past seven years. Their son, Jacob Wise, will be called to the Torah as a Bar Mitzvah on June 17 as he turns 13, proudly supported by his sisters Talia and Alexa.
