The CMTP is just one example of the innova tive programs being run at Sheridan. The Centre for Mobile Innovation (CMI) is another Sheridan program that is doing tremendous work. On May 5, I was proud to announce that CMI will receive $2.3 million from the federal govern ment to help local businesses engage with the faculty to develop solutions to mobile computing challenges. In addition, Sheridan College will receive $1 + T.A. Blakelock High School is marking its 60th anniversary Saturday, May 20 with an open house, golf tournament and a pub night. The open house runs 2-5 p.m. at the 1160 Re becca St. school, where guests can visit and tour the school, as well as have an opportunity to meet past and current teachers, staff and students. Alumni students will be present to entertain and perform. Rooms depicting the school' s vari ous decades of operation will be set up for visiting and photos will be included, too. "T.A. Blakelock alumni and staff have many decades of great memories, relationships and aca demic successes to celebrate," said Dean Barnes, T.A. Blakelock High School principal. The golf tournament will be held at Indian Wells, 5377 Walkers Line, Burlington, with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. A pub night will be held from 6 p.m. to mid night at the OE Banquet & Conference Centre, 2245 Speers Rd. Cost is $40. "We are looking forward to hosting some very special events to mark this extraordinary day for all Blakelock alumni," said Dan Ferrone, co-chair 60th Reunion Committee.
