Police responded to the accident at about 10 a.m., after a transport truck going southbound on Trafalgar Road and a Toyota Camry collided at Leighland Avenue. The 85-year-old man driving the Camry suffered serious injuries and was transported to Hamilton General Hospital. The Halton police collision reconstruction unit attended at the scene and took over the investigation. Trafalgar Road was closed for approximately four hours for the investigation. Any witnesses are asked to call Det. Chris Heffernan or Det. Cyrus Irani of the Halton police Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905 825-4747, ext. 5065. The April fundraising drive ended on Sunday, May 7 with the Birmingham Bank Bed Race Event.
