Craft and Bake Sale returns to St. Mildred' s The St M ildred's-Lightboum School's popular traditional Craft and Bake Sale returns on Saturday, Nov. 18th , at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., by popular demand, after a two-year hiatus. The sale, organized by the St. Mildred's Lightboum Parents and Friends Association, will be at held at the school on Linbrook Road. Jewelry, candles, artwork, sequined frogs, silver spoons, floral designs, Christmas decorations and hostess gifts of every kind are just some of the items from talented local crafters. The Holly & Ivy Tea Room will be offering refreshments and the Alumnae Association will be returning with their `Saint's Preserve Us' jams, jellies, oils and vinegars. The bake sale will fea ture baked goods provided by students, parents and friends of the school. Amongst the highlights for children will be the Kris Kringle Shop. Children from aged three to 12 can shop, without their parents, for small, inexpensive but attractive gifts. Santa is due to pay a visit and, and there will be a children's craft station as well as face-painting. For the past two years, all donations and proceeds raised at St Mildred's Christmas Festival, with the exception of the Bake Sale, were given to local non-profit agencies and groups. This year, the proceeds raised from `A Christmas Day' will go to the school. Admission to the event will be a non-perishable food item (or monetary donation) for the Fareshare Food Bank. In addition, `A Christmas D ay' is supporting the Salvation Army's `Give-aKid-a-Coat' initiative. Everyone is invited to clean out their closets and donate an unwanted coat and to compliment the coats, the Junior School students are collecting and donating mit tens to The Mitten Tree. Finally, the prefects are organizing a `Buy-a-Bowl' Christmas tree, with all pro ceeds going to the Oakville Trafalgar-Memorial Hospital paediatric ward.
