Model air showon Father's Day The Oakville Milton Flying Club will hold its an nual Model Aircraft Air Show Sunday, June 18 -- on Father' s Day. It' s at the club' s flying field, located at Drumquin Park, 185 Britannia Rd. E ., in Milton, just west of the corner of Britannia and Trafalgar Roads. The show is open to the public and runs from 12:30-3 p.m. It features a variety of model aircraft types both in flight and on static display. The show will also highlight the various kinds of flying done at the club, such as 3-D aerobatics, soaring and scale flight. Club members will be on hand to answer questions from spectators. A perennial favourite at the clim ax of the air show is a chance to pilot a model aircraft under the guidance of a qualified flight instructor. An other very popular event is a candy-drop from a model aircraft. Admission is a donation to the Fare Share food bank. This can be non-perishable food or cash, and can be made at the entrance to the flying field. There is ample free parking in either the fly ing field lot area or in the Drumquin Park lots nearby. W hile there is some public seating available, it is best to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket to enjoy the show in comfort. Food and beverages will be available for pur chase during the event.
