Dix draws her inspiration from the misty English landscapes of her birthplace, the sweeping skies of Canada and Caribbean Latest works of local artist featured at Allegro Gallery Cafe seascapes. Influenced by travel, photography, archi tecture, and the power and beauty of na ture, her style has a photographic quality as she looks to capture a moment in time and a sense of mood and movement within her work. Having painted in watercolours and acryl ics, Dix has developed a love for oils, which help her achieve the richest, softest and most dramatic images. Born in England, where she studied and exhibited, Dix moved into the corporate world and Oakville, where she has settled with her family. Dix has sold her work in London and To ronto into private and corporate collections. Cloud 9 runs until June 25. Whole Foods Market is an ongoing sup porter of the arts in Oakville, hosting shows bi-monthly, providing wall space to emerg ing artists.
