T im >v TtLEH m * Film festival returns June 23-25 The festival returns to Oakville for a fourth year, from Friday, June 23, to Sunday, June 25. It will be presenting 19 feature films and documentaries and more than 25 short films. The selected films represent multiple genres, styles, and tones -- each presenting different perspectives on life and the human condition that connects each of us. World premieres will include To the Mountain (Canadian drama); and The Meaning of Life, which is the Saturday night special event gala. The festival will see the North American premiere of Broke (Australian sports drama). And it will feature Canadian premieres of: A Ghost Story (American drama/fantasy), the Friday night opening gala starring Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara; Gear (Canadian/ American drama/thriller); Treasure Hound (Canadian family); and The Time of their Lives (British comedy), starring Joan Collins, Pauline Collins, and Franco Nero. Amongst the regional premieres, the festival will see Red Dog, True Blue (Australian family), which is the Saturday afternoon family special event, playing at Film.Ca. In addition to the wide range of films, this year's festival includes exclusive events and opportunities to meet directors, actors and filmmakers from across Canada and North America. The Meaning of Life, which was filmed in Oakville last year, premieres 8 p.m. at Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, 130 Navy St. In the movie, Faber is assigned a nine yearold leukemia patient Sophia Hill, a little girl going through chemotherapy. Faber soon comes to understand that Sophia coming into his life was no coincidence, but the means to deliver an important lesson he needed to learn before making a big step forward in life. : -VFfi!
