Global dem and for air travel is behind the airport' s growth. The airport is launching a series of initiatives this sum m er to talk about growth and the im pact of its operations, to ensure that the airport' s long-range plan addresses the concerns and priorities of residents. Residents can participate by attending one of a series of public w orkshops in the Greater Toronto Area and by com pleting a Survey on N oise Fairness and Airport Growth. In O akville Ju ly 6 of Toronto Pearson, the growth of the Greater Toronto and Ham ilton area, and the airport' s vision for the future. Participants w ill then be invited to jo in a series of facilitated sm all group discussions w ith other local residents and m em bers of the new Residents' Reference Panel, and suggest ways to: · provide new transit options for the airport and region · manage and m itigate n oise from aircraft · engage and inform residents about airport operations · strengthen the airport' s com m itm ent to the environm ent. On Saturday June, 17 the Oakville Milton Humane Society's (OMHS) Barkin' Bin Thrift Store celebrated its official grand opening at 511 Pinegrove Rd. Oakville Mayor Rob Burton cut the ribbon and was joined by Town councillors Roger Lapworth (Ward 4), Cathy Duddeck and Ray Chisholm (both Ward 2) and a few members of the Oakville Fire Department, OMHS Executive Director Kim Millan, along with the shop's co-tenants, A Chocolate Lab's co-owners Nicky Lawson and Helena Thompson. The OMHS relies entirely on donations to feed, shelter, and provide medical attention for animals in its care. Proceeds from the store will go to help the ani mals at the OMHS.
