The tree was plant ed by Oakvillegreen as part of the WRRA's annual picnic in the park and to celebrate Canada's 150th anniversary. Over the last 13 years, Oakvillegreen volunteers and partners have planted over 22,000 trees in Oakville. Local councillors, Cathy Duddeck and Ray Chisholm, and Mayor Rob Burton, joined in the festivities. In addition to the tree ceremony, attendees enjoyed making butterfly milkweed seed bursts.
