3 | Thursday June 2 9 , 2 0 1 7 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | w w w .insidehalton.com Charges laid after Bobcat stolen Police from Halton and Peel responded to a report of a carjacking/possible robbery at the Oakville - Mississauga border in the area of Win ston Churchill Boulevard and Lakeshore Road on Tuesday, June 20, at about 10 p.m. Police said investigation confirmed two victims were robbed by a man they arranged to meet. Further investigation revealed that, earlier that day, one of the victims allegedly stole a Bobcat from a commercial property on Wyecroft Road in Oakville. The Bobcat was then allegedly towed to the Winston Churchill Boulevard and Lakeshore Road area, where it was to be turned over to the other man. At this point, police said the man indicated he had a gun and robbed both victims of their wal lets and phones before instructing them to drop [ in s id e to d a y s B e a v e r the Bobcat off at a nearby location. One of the victims ran to a nearby restaurant and called 911. Officers from the Canine and Tactical Rescue Units joined in the search for the man but were unable to locate him. The investigation was then turned over to members of HRPS' Oakville Crim inal Investigations Bureau. On Wednesday, June 21, police charged Jason Morrison, 42, of Toronto, with two counts of rob bery. He was held in custody for a bail hearing at Milton Court. Michael Kwias, 36, of Oakville, was charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of prop erty by crime over $5,000 in connection with the alleged theft of the Bobcat.
