CFUW -Oakville awards four scholarships to graduating women from Oakville high schools, along with one scholarship for a mature student to continue her education. An additional $1,500 award was given this year to honour the 50th anniversary of CFUW Oakville. Vizma Sprott, owner of Booker's Michelle Addley Jodine Mitchell Bookstore, and Julia Pouse and Maria Gallego, co-owners of Caffe del Libros contributed $1,000 to the scholarship fund from the 1999 fundraiser. An additional $6,500 was raised from the Silent Auction and draw for a Persian carpet donated by Bob Tootikian of the Im perial Rug Hanadi Kesebi Jenny Liu Gallery in Oakville at the CFUWOakville 50th anniversary celebra tion in May.
