M ildred Allworth Scholarship, $l,QO0, went to Jodine Mitchell, St. Thomas Aquinas, now at University of W estern O ntario in Adm inistrative and Com mercial t ' , ' %r * Studies. This years University Entrance Awards, of 1,000 each, have been awarded to: Hanadi Kesebi, St. Thomas Aquinas, University of Toronto, in Life Sciences. Jenny Liu, Queen Elizabeth Park, Trent U niversity, in Concurrent Education. M ichelle Addley, St. Thomas Aquinas, Western, Administrative and Commercial Studies. The Jean Malcolm Smith Award, $500, is awarded to Carlijrr Moester, Oakville Trafalgar, who is in Pre-Med at M cM aster University. The M ature Student Award, $500, is awarded to Brenda Anderson, to continue studies at Sheridan College in second-year Music Theatre Performance. CFUW -Oakville awards four scholarships to graduating women from Oakville high schools, along with one scholarship for a mature student to continue her education. An additional $1,500 award was given this year to honour the 50th anniversary of CFUW Oakville. Vizma Sprott, owner of Booker's Michelle Addley Jodine Mitchell Bookstore, and Julia Pouse and Maria Gallego, co-owners of Caffe del Libros contributed $1,000 to the scholarship fund from the 1999 fundraiser. An additional $6,500 was raised from the Silent Auction and draw for a Persian carpet donated by Bob Tootikian of the Im perial Rug Hanadi Kesebi Jenny Liu Gallery in Oakville at the CFUWOakville 50th anniversary celebra tion in May. The fourth annual CFUWOakville Scholarship Fundraiser held on Nov. 16th at B ooker's Bookstore raised $751.78 from sales and Caffe del Libros donated $ 100 .
