D6 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, November 29, 2000 ELCO M E A G O N ltd. S in c e 19 3 0 «! 1 Bruins make it two-for-two The Sheridan Bruins made it two for two in cen tral division league play, routing the Durham Lords 93-57 at J.M. Porter Gym in Oakville last Friday. This one was over early as the Bruins exploded for 20 straight points to break an early 8-8 dead lock and eventually lead 50-21 at the half. Durham never challenged in the second half and the Bruins cruised home for the win. Freshman guard Vance King led the way with 18 points and five rebounds. Denton Daley was a force inside, scor ing 14 points with six offensive rebounds and four steals. Hugh Bent, Kevin Dennis and Andrew Muir all chipped in with 10 points. The Bruins were without starting center Ricardo Edwards who dislocated his finger and will be out until January. That could be a huge loss for the #8 ranked Bruins as they hit the road for two tough road games -- last night against #4 ranked Humber Hawks (the game went beyond our Wednesday edition dead line) and Friday night at #3 ranked George Brown Huskies. "We have our hands full this week," comment ed Bruins head man Jim Flack. WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL The Sheridan Bruins dropped to 3-2, losing to Humber last week 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-24). Sheridan's Laura Monk and Noreen Ortilla are third and fourth, respective ly in the central division offensive stats. MEN'S VOLLEYBALL The Sheridan Bruins dropped to 1-5, losing to Humber last week 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-23).
