THE OAKVILLE BEAVER Friday, December 29, 2000 Oakville well represented at nationals Oakville will be well represented at upcoming national figure skating championships. The big one is the combined senior and junior nationals which are being held at Winnipeg Arena, Jan. 16-21. The marquee performer, as always, is Elvis Stojko, and although he's from Richmond Hill and retains his Richmond Hill Skating Club affiliation, he has strong Oakville connections. Ever since his junior days, Stojko has been coming to Oakville to get his skates sharpened by Oakville's Paul Fisher. He is a familiar site at the River Oaks arena and has been spend ing even more time there in recent years since amicably parting ways with his longtime coach last year.
